One of the biggest breakthroughs in my routine came from understanding the balance between moisture and protein. For a while, my hair felt overly soft, mushy, and prone to breakage, which I later realized was a sign of moisture overload.
I started incorporating light protein treatments every few weeks, and it made a noticeable difference in my hair’s strength and elasticity. My curls started holding their shape better, and I experienced less breakage during detangling.
At the same time, I had to be careful not to overdo protein. Too much left my hair feeling stiff and brittle, which created a different set of problems. It really is about finding that balance based on how your hair responds.
Now I pay attention to how my hair feels rather than sticking to a strict schedule. Adjusting based on texture and elasticity has been much more effective than following generic routines.
